Roller Alignment

Roll straightness and parallelism in both the vertical and horizontal directions are the two basic components of roll alignment. Straightness is simply a measurement of each individual roll in a system to determine whether or not it is worn, damaged, sagging, or deflecting under its own weight. As a result, TMS ensures that the Rolls are parallel to ensure that the product produced is uniform and of high quality. Uneven bearing stresses, tracking, web breaks, uneven coating, wrinkling, delamination, warping, roller surface wear, tension irregularities, and other issues are reduced or eliminated by parallel rolls. Roller alignment helps to reduce waste, downtime, and maintenance costs. When machines are running at high speeds or the web has a high contact wrap with rollers, roll parallelism becomes even more important.
